Where are all the dogs needing homes? Iwant to adopt.

There are supposed to be several hundred dogs to adopt in Italy.  I am offering a safe, loving home to a new friend, living in a marina on a yacht.   WHY CAN I NOT FIND ONE TO ADOPT?

Emails are ignored (I have currently no phone due to theft)

Dogs advertised I  see as adopted on Facebook - adopted.

I spend hours translating sites (I speak some Italian but am not fluent), and looking for a dog to adopt    .

Is it because I am English?  I live aboard a yacht?   ???

Looking for a medium size female up to one year or a puppy. My dog died this week, Elvis was 15.
